On the second day of the SNEC exhibition, Osda Solar held a grand certification ceremony at its booth and officially received TÜV Rheinland's global first batch of desert photovoltaic certification for N-type TOPCon bifacial modules and 0BB technology certification. This marks a significant breakthrough for Osda Solar in photovoltaic technology innovation and product quality.
Desert PV Module Certification: Providing Reliable Assurance for Extreme Environments
Desert regions, with their abundant solar resources and vast spaces, are becoming important areas for large-scale photovoltaic power generation. However, the extreme conditions in desert environments, such as high UV radiation, high temperatures, diurnal temperature differences, and sand and dust erosion, pose severe challenges to the long-term reliability of photovoltaic modules. The desert photovoltaic module standard introduced by TÜV Rheinland clarifies the key technical requirements and testing methods for modules in desert environments, helping companies optimize product design and enhance the weather resistance and cost-effectiveness of modules.
Osda Solar's N-type TOPCon bifacial modules have passed the strict 3.5-month test conducted by TÜV Rheinland and have become one of the first companies in the world to obtain this certification. This not only proves Osda Solar's technical strength in the field of desert photovoltaic modules but also lays a solid quality foundation for the development of the global desert photovoltaic market. Mr. Li Weichun, Vice President of Global Power Electronics Services at TÜV Rheinland and Vice President of Solar and Commercial Product Services in Greater China, said: "TÜV Rheinland has always focused on industry pain points and, relying on its global experience and technical advantages, has promoted the industry to higher standards. Osda Solar's certification is the result of our joint efforts in photovoltaic technology innovation and quality improvement."
0BB Technology Certification: Innovative Process Leads Industry Upgrades
0BB technology is a cutting-edge technology in the photovoltaic industry. By eliminating the traditional main busbar design and retaining only the fine grid lines (sub-busbars), and using ribbons or polymer films with embedded metal wires to collect current and connect cells in the module process, it achieves a "zero busbar" structure. This technology has significant cost-saving and efficiency-enhancing advantages: it reduces silver paste consumption by about 30%, ribbon usage by 10%, and encapsulant savings by 30%, and supports thinning of silicon wafers to 100μm, further reducing costs. At the same time, eliminating the main busbar increases the light-receiving area, and dense welding points shorten the current transmission path, significantly improving the photovoltaic conversion efficiency and reliability of the modules.
Relying on its profound accumulation in photovoltaic technology research and development and production manufacturing, Osda Solar has taken the lead in commercializing 0BB technology and has obtained authoritative certification from TÜV Rheinland. Ms. Zhang Hongyan, Chairman of Ningbo Osda Solar Co., Ltd., said at the certification ceremony: "The successful application of 0BB technology not only enhances the competitiveness of Osda Solar's products but also provides strong support for the technological upgrading and sustainable development of the photovoltaic industry. We will continue to increase R&D investment and promote the implementation of more innovative technologies."
Obtaining TÜV Rheinland's global first batch of desert PV certification for N-type TOPCon bifacial modules and 0BB technology certification is an important milestone for Osda Solar in photovoltaic technology innovation and product quality improvement. In the future, Osda Solar will continue to work with TÜV Rheinland to jointly promote the high-quality development of the photovoltaic industry and contribute to the global renewable energy cause.
